HM Coastguard Rescue Service
HM Coastguard Rescue Service
H M Coastguard has recently undergone the most radical reorganisation in its history. Our Search and Rescue Service is now coordinated from the new National Maritime Operations Centre at Fareham in Hampshire. Day to day coordination is still performed by the Operations Centres at Dover, Humber, Aberdeen Shetland, Stornaway, Belfast, Holyhead, Milford Haven and Falmouth. With new communications technology it is now possible for any Operations Centre to coordinate an incident anywhere in the country.
The CRS is a voluntary uniformed organization managed, trained and equipped by HM Coastguard.
